Hidden Corn

Hidden Corn

I love eating delicious food. Besides art, food is my life. I don't cook thoiugh and have tried many almost ready food deliveries. Currently I have become a vegetarian for humane reasons. It is heartwarming to watch the animals reclaim their earth. When I was very young and didn t like to eat corn I'd hide the kernels under my mashed potatoes. Don't know why mother allowed leftover potatoes on my plate but nevertheless I escaped the dreaded corn consumption.

Cause I Want To

Cause I Want To

A message to myself reminding me I have options and that's enough. No explanations, no justifications. Simply fun. Integrity is then a built-in factor because I am being truthful about what I want without the need fir a Y.

Use it for promoting your favorite "cause" as well.

Tatoo

Tatoo

I decorated a photograph of an acrylic painting I made on canvas during 2018.

Flagged

Flagged

Original acrylic painting on wood 8 x 8 inches with bright primary colors, in the collection of Chuck S., 2018. I filtered the original photo of the painting digitally and repeated the image compositionally to create a new perspective as a design pattern using a subtle color palette. Painted while living on Savannah, Georgia's Wilmington Island in a very very small studio apartment.

Watchtower

Watchtower

Recycled work consisting of an original acrylic painting created during 2018 of a female face and a digital combination of a photo of ancirent marble bust decorated with digital vector elements (2019) remastered and filtered (2020). I used perspective to achieve depth and to ease the flatness of digital art. A blending of old and new, time and space. You could say it took 3 years to make the final piece.

Tightrope

Tightrope

It was fun drawing this acrobat scaling the heights ipabove a cityscaoe without a net below to catch him in case. I heard someone say, "Just because you can do something doesn't mean you shoukd." I confess I still don t understand whether that statement meant more than the obvious generic warning. Ink drawing and clipart printed on paper.

Australian FireWater

Australian FireWater

The impulse to be of help to koalas during the recent Australian fire crisis prompted me to create the two central images. To my delight, the fires subsided and I believed that since everything is connected my visual prayer along with the rest of the world might have helped. The backgroud was subsequently included.

Water Is Beautiful and Pure

Water Is Beautiful and Pure

After drawing a sketch of an imaginary waterfall I found a photograph that matched pretty well and added some clipart elements. I was then going to offer businesses a chance to place their logo on the print but soon realized that didn't make any sense at all. Skewed attemp at marketing...back to the drawing board for me.

Untitled

Untitled

Me and my cousin one day decided to play a trick on our loved neighbor we called Aunt Jenny. We emptied her milk container and fillled it with dirt and giggled for hours. What on earth made us do that? Aunt Jenny of course wasn't as happy about our adventure and chased us around the yard with her broonstick. Later she confided that she knew it wasn't my idea and that I shouldn't let my bad cousin influence me. I didn't have the heart, or guts to tell her it was actually my idea. Sigh.

The Press Got This One Right

The Press Got This One Right

I confess that in the past I felt like a circus act performing for onlookers. Sort of like being quarantined, only worse. Then I saw a live newscast and noticed that the press exited the room to the right all at once as a group while the speakers on stage exited left. At least all escaped calmly, which was a very pleasant thing to witness.

Don't Wake The Sleeping Giant

Don't Wake The Sleeping Giant

I confess I was angry. I was unprepared emotionally to hear news about mandatory vaccinations. Being a free spirit type, personally I don't care for anything mandatory. Once I realized I can't change others with anger I calmed down, and luckiky I had already created this artwork to share with you.

Dog

Dog

Combining clipart and traditional art is like walking a tightrope without a net. It's a little precarious fun, similar I suppose to investing in the stockmarket. Dogs are universal symbols of loyalty. Most of my life was spent being loyal for the sake of loyalty whether deserved or not. I confesss to dubious judgment in some cases and have learned many profitable lessons. I now trust in God and myself...a GREAT team!

For some reason I kept feeling Yellow Blue Dog would make a good home school tool.

Eye See Sound

Eye See Sound

Digital Drawing describing a listening experience where I fellt as though I coulld see the sound waves like when you toss a stone upon a lake and see the concentric circles flow outward. These were not Himalayan bowls and not Tibetan bowls but are from the Indian tradition mentioned in Upanishads, Ayurveda and elsewhere. On YouTube. Of course the most profound states come through my art as personal connection to God and as God is everywhere I can connect with everything as inspiration.

I Was Butcher Now Vegetarian

I Was Butcher Now Vegetarian

Digital drawing superimposed over a photograph of veggies. Years ago I was vegetarian and went a little overboard on the ice cream intake to my digestive distress. Luckily I recovered and at the suggestion of a holistic doctor I added meat to my diet. Now I have returned to meatless mealing because it helps the planet, the air I breathe, and my gut. Also I can no longer tolerate cruelty to animals especially when there are so many delicious alternatives to killing unnecessarily. Trust me, I've eaten a lot of yummy foods lately.

Surfing Under Glass

Surfing Under Glass

A combination of cropped photos, ink drawing and shapes placed strategically as in a collage to tell a story. I wanted a feeling of depth and motion to offset the typical flatness of digital art, and a desire to be more painterly. I love stretching the boundaries of form and narrative to open the valve of imagination...both of mine and the viewers. The closest I cane to surfing was water skiing. Aside from the cramp in my foot I had two very successful 10-minute water ski attempts.
